Our Process
BumperArt.com runs the most state of the art printing facilities in the world.
There are two common ways that bumper stickers are printed: traditional offset
printing, and "sign machines" that create vinyl stickers using a process
similar to how truck signs are created.
For most of our stickers we use a third, unique, process with a $100,000
machine similar to a laser printer. Except that the finished product
impregnates plastic "toner" into a plastic substrate. The result is a product
unique to BumperArt.com.
We also have the equipment used by others in the business: namely, a wide-format
printer that creates vinyl stickers. Combined with precise computer-contolled
cutting equipment we are able to produce custom shapes up to 30" wide and
several hundred feet long. At this time the vinyl stickers are only available
for wholesale orders of 100 or more of a given sticker. Contact us for details.
When you place an order, it is transmitted electronically to the printing
facility within seconds. We do manually cut each sticker -- so actual lead time
is per the current estimate on our web page, plus mail time. (The estimate is
updated in real time, based on how many orders are currently in house.)
Location
Our corporate offices are in Redmond, WA. We have manufacturing facilities in
both Redmond and Bellingham, WA, with Bellingham being the primary
manufacturing facility.
Why Don't You Have Phone Support?
Bumper stickers are not exactly a high-profit business. The only way we are
able to offer them at low cost -- especially with all the customization
capabilities on this website -- is by operating under a true Internet business
model. That means no phone support, no mail orders, no retail outlets, and no
checks accepted. We realize that some people are looking for personal support,
but that's a business decision we made.
We do have responsive email support, however.
Website
We run on Microsoft's .NET technology in order to assure the
utmost in security and performance for our customers. The site is in a
co-location facility in Redmond, WA on an extremely fast Internet backbone.
Retail Stores
We do not operate retail stores, and have no intention to do so in
the future.
Executive Team
Our dedicated management team has years of experience in companies like Enron,
World Com, and various dotcoms.
OK, so that's really not true. It's more accurate to say this is a family-owned
business.
